Brother Husbands

Denice and I started watching a new show, Brother Husbands. The new TLCgo show is about a polyamorous family consisting of one female, two husbands, and five children. Amanda, the mom/wife, is the sole breadwinner of the family. Amanda’s husbands, Chad and Jeremy stay home with the kids.

I’ve been aware of polyamory for a while now, but this is the first time I have seen the relationship style in action. This whole arrangement bends/breaks the (so called) rules in so many ways. I just finished watching the pilot. My first impression of the show is a good one. I am impressed at how warm and caring they all are to each other. They have disagreements, but they communicate. The three girls and two boys seem very happy and well-adjusted. Chad and Jeremy don’t seem to feel emasculated by their role of caring for the kids, and Amanda doesn’t seem to rub in the fact that she wears the proverbial ‘pants’ in the family. I find this theme to be much more interesting than the religiously motivated Sister Wives show. Denice loves Sister Wives, by the way. I was never very impressed by it.

Anyway, I don’t have a lot of time right now to say all that I want to say about Brother Husbands. I’m going to take the next post to get more in-depth about polyamory and other alternative relationship styles. I find this stuff fascinating. Denice and I have an awesome relationship, and I see a lot of similarities with how Amanda interacts with her husbands. I think there is a lot to unpack here about what it takes to have a good relationship with someone[s].

More tomorrow. Good night, friends.

If brother husbands intrigues you, find online or download the reality series – Polyamory: Married and Dating

That really helped to shape the kind of Polyamory me and my wife practice… it should 3 different poly situations over 2 seasons…
